Message Templates | FieldCamp

Edit the emails and texts FieldCamp sends automatically — booking confirmations, payment reminders, review requests and AI agent messages — with variables.

Message Templates control the wording of the messages FieldCamp sends on its own: booking confirmations, payment reminders, review requests and the messages AI agents send. Editing a template changes what customers receive, without touching the automation that triggers it.

This is different from email templates, which are the templates you pick when you send an estimate or invoice by hand, and from saved replies, which a person inserts while typing in the Inbox.

Before you begin

  • Message Templates is available to dispatcher-level roles and above.
  • System templates are seeded automatically the first time the page loads. You can edit their wording but not delete them, because automations reference them by slug.

Open Message Templates

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Under Customer Experience, select Message Templates.

The table lists Name, Type, Channel, Content and Slug. Type is either System or Custom.

Edit a template

  1. Select the template.
  2. Change the Subject (email only) and the Body.
  3. Insert dynamic values from the Variables list — selecting a variable inserts it at the cursor as {{variable}}.
  4. Select Update.

Keep the variables intact when you rewrite the copy. A removed variable simply stops being filled in, and the message goes out with the surrounding sentence incomplete.

Add your own template

  1. Select Add Template.
  2. Enter a Name, for example Payment reminder.
  3. Choose the Channel: Email or SMS.
  4. For email, enter the Subject.
  5. Write the Body using variables where you need dynamic values.
  6. Select Add.

Name and body are both required.

Deleting a custom template cannot be undone, and anything referencing it stops working. System templates cannot be deleted at all.

Where these templates are used

  • Booking confirmations — the confirmation email sent after an online booking is taken from here, so you can change the wording without touching the booking flow. See Setting up online booking.
  • Payment reminders and review requests — the copy AI agents send on your behalf.
  • Agent messages — the outputs of the agents configured under AI agents.
