Rename modules with Terminology | FieldCamp
Rename Clients, Jobs, Requests, Estimates and Invoices in FieldCamp so the sidebar, lists and record pages use your own words, in every language you support.
Not every business calls a job a "job". Terminology lets you rename a module's display labels — Jobs to Work Orders, Clients to Customers, Requests to Enquiries — and FieldCamp uses your word everywhere it shows that label.
The rename is a display change. Routes, APIs, permissions and integrations keep using the system name, so nothing you have already built breaks.
Before you begin
- You need an administrator role to open Pipeline Configuration.
- Terminology is available for Client, Job, Request, Estimate and Invoice.
- Decide the singular and the plural. Both are required for English before you can save.
Rename a module
- Open Settings > Pipeline Configuration.
- Select the module you want to rename, for example Job.
- Select the Settings tab.
- In the Terminology card, enter the Singular label — for example
Work Order. - Enter the Plural label — for example
Work Orders. - Select Save terminology.
The card shows a live example line so you can check the result before saving: your list page becomes the Work Orders page.
Rename in other languages
Both label fields accept a value per language, so a workspace that runs in more than one locale can give each its own word. Fill in English first — it is the value FieldCamp falls back to — then add the other locales you support.
English is required. The Save terminology button stays disabled until both the singular and plural English values are filled in.
Where the new label appears
Once saved, your word replaces the built-in one across the product, including:
- the sidebar item and its tooltip;
- list pages, list column headers and page titles;
- record detail pages and the record cards on dynamic layouts; and
- the related labels used in the Inbox and in block-driven pages.
Internal routes such as /jobs, API payloads, webhook events, permission names and workflow object names are unchanged.
Reset to the default
Select Reset in the Terminology card to drop your overrides and go back to FieldCamp's built-in labels.
