Creating a Client From a Job Request

When someone submits a job request through your booking form, FieldCamp can automatically create a client for them:

  1. Go to Requests in the sidebar

  2. Open the pending request

  3. Click Create Client (if they don't already exist in your system)

  4. Review the pre-filled information (name, email, phone, address)

  5. Add any missing details or custom fields

  6. Click Create

Setting Their Category and Stage

When you create a client, you can assign them to a category (Leads, Pipeline, or Clients) and choose a stage (e.g., New Lead, Contacted, Active Client, Past Client). Categories are broad groupings for where a contact sits in your sales process; stages are more specific milestones within each category. You can always change both later as your relationship with the client progresses. See Client Stages Explained for the full list of stages and what they mean.

Tip: Need to add many clients at once? Use the CSV/Excel import instead of creating them one by one. See Importing Clients (CSV / Excel) for the full walkthrough.

FAQ's

Can I create a client automatically from a job request?

Yes. When someone submits a job request through your booking form, go to Requests in the sidebar, open the pending request, and click Create Client. FieldCamp pre-fills the client's name, email, phone, and address from the request. Review the information, add any missing details or custom fields, and click Create.

What's the difference between an Individual and Business client?

Individual clients are people — homeowners, tenants, or private contacts. Business clients are companies or organisations. The main difference is that Business clients have a Company Name field. Choose the right type when creating a client so your records stay organised and invoices display the correct entity name.

What are client categories and stages in FieldCamp?

Categories (Leads, Pipeline, Clients) are broad groupings that help you organise where a contact is in your sales process. Stages are more specific milestones within each category — like New Lead, Contacted, Active Client, or Past Client. You assign both when creating a client and can change them anytime as the relationship progresses.

Is an email address required when creating a client?

No. Only First Name and Last Name are required. Email, phone, address, company, and all other fields are optional. However, you'll need an email address if you want to send estimates, invoices, or communications to the client through FieldCamp.
