FieldCamp Calling Guide
Overview
FieldCamp Calling lets you make and receive professional phone calls straight from your browser—no extra hardware or apps required. FieldCamp keeps all call activity, recordings, and transcriptions connected seamlessly to client records and team collaboration.

Make and receive calls from your browser

Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure you have:
Admin access to FieldCamp
Twilio number purchased (see Twilio Number Setup Guide)
Modern browser with a working microphone
Stable internet connection
Active Calls addon subscription
Setting Up Calling in FieldCamp
Click Settings in the FieldCamp sidebar
Click Addons at the sidebar
Find and click Install on the Calls addon to activate calling functionality
Click Setup Twilio Account
Copy Account SID and Auth Token from Twilio.
Copy your Twilio Account SID and Auth Token into the setup fields
Click Validate
Purchase a new Twilio phone number or add existing numbers
Set one number as Primary for outbound calls
Configure settings as needed (recording, voicemail, friendly name)
Success Check: Your purchased number appears in the phone numbers list and shows "Active" status.
Accessing the Calling Feature
Open your FieldCamp dashboard
Click Inbox in the left sidebar
Click the Calls tab to view call history and start calls
Success Check: You see the Calls tab with call history and a Call button in the top-right corner.
If you see "Connect Calls Add-on": You need to activate the Calls add-on and set up your business phone number. Follow the Twilio Number Setup Guide for step-by-step instructions.
Accessing Calls from Client Profiles
View call history:
Open an existing client
Click the Activity tab
View all call history with that client
Make a new call:
Open an existing client
Click the Call dropdown at the top-right corner
Select the number to call the client
Success Check: You can see all past calls and make new calls directly from the client profile.
Microphone Setup
On first use, FieldCamp prompts for microphone access:
Click Allow when prompted
Wait for status to change to "Phone active"
Success Check: Status changes to "Phone active" once permission is granted.
If denied: Follow in-app instructions to enable microphone in browser settings, then refresh the page.
Making Calls:
1. Quick Dial
Click the Call button at the top-right corner
The dialer opens
Select your Caller ID number (if more than one is available)
Enter the phone number (any format with country code)
Click Call to start
Success Check: You hear ringing and the call widget appears showing caller information and duration.
2. Calling from Client Records
Open a client profile or use call history
Click the phone number to redial or call recognized contacts
Success Check: FieldCamp displays client information for calls with recognized numbers.
3. During the Call
You can see:
Caller name/number
Call duration
Status
Available actions:
Click Mute/Unmute to control your microphone
Click End Call to disconnect
Drag the call widget to reposition it as needed
4. Receiving Calls
When an incoming call arrives, a browser popup appears with caller information and ringtone
Click the green Accept button to answer
Click the red Decline button to send to voicemail
Or ignore the call to send it to voicemail automatically
Success Check: When you accept a call, the call widget appears and you can speak with the caller.
Note: Your call history displays missed calls.
Call History and Recordings:
1. View Call History
Click Inbox in the left sidebar
Click the Calls tab
All calls appear in the list (missed, outgoing, received, voicemails)
Success Check: You see all past calls with timestamps, duration, and caller information.
2. Access Call Details and Recordings
Click any call in the history
The call details expand showing:
a. Recording playback
b. Transcription
c. AI summary
d. Call metadata
Success Check: You can play the recording and read the transcription.
3. Filter Calls
Click the Filter dropdown
Select specific call types:
Missed, Received, Outgoing, or All
Success Check: Your call list updates to show only the selected call type.
4. Download or Share Recordings
Click any call to open details.
Click Download to save the recordings on the device.
Click Copy link of Recordings to share recordings to team members.
Success Check: Recording downloads to your device or share dialog opens.
Transcriptions & AI Features:
1. View Transcription and AI Summary
Click any call in your history to expand it
View the transcription showing the full conversation
Review the AI summary showing:
a. Key points
b. Sentiment
c. Action items
Success Check: You see the full conversation transcript and AI-generated summary.
2. Improve Transcription Accuracy
Click Improve with AI if the transcription needs enhancement
Wait for processing to complete
Success Check: The transcription updates with improved accuracy.
Managing Voicemails:
Click Inbox in the left sidebar
Click the Calls tab
FieldCamp displays voicemails as entries with a special voicemail icon
Available actions:
Play the voicemail
Download the recording
View transcription
Read AI summary
Respond by calling, texting, or assigning tasks
Success Check: You can play voicemail recordings and see their transcriptions.
Client Integration:
1. Automatic Client Linking
FieldCamp automatically links calls with known numbers to client profiles for complete history.
Success Check: When you click a call, you see the linked client profile with full contact information.
2. Create Client from Unknown Caller
Click any call from an unknown number
Click Create Client
Fill in client information
Click Save
Success Check: The call now shows linked to the new client profile.
Advanced and Team Features:
1. Bulk Manage Calls
Select multiple calls using the checkboxes
Click Bulk Actions
Choose Delete Recordings or other actions
Success Check: Selected calls update according to your action.
2. Multi-Number Support
When making a call, click the Caller ID dropdown
Select which number to use for the call
Success Check: Your selected number appears as the Caller ID.
3. Share
Click any call to open details
Click download recordings to download the recordings on your device
Click Copy Link of Recording to send links of recordings to team members for collaboration.
Success Check: Files download or share dialog opens.
Best Practices
Use a headset for best call quality
Ensure stable internet connection
Grant microphone permissions when prompted
Review transcriptions and AI summaries after important calls
Link calls to clients for complete history tracking
