What is the FieldCamp Inbox Module?
FieldCamp Inbox is your central hub for managing all business communications in one place. It combines emails, calls, text messages, and tasks so you never switch between different apps. The organized layout helps you communicate faster and track conversations easily.

Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure you have:
Active FieldCamp account
Modern web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Safari)
Reliable internet connection
Optional - for full Inbox features:
For Calls: Enable Calls addon and set up Twilio account
For Emails: Connect Gmail integration
For Messages: Complete messaging setup

A Typical First Day With the FieldCamp Inbox:
1. Access Inbox
Sign in to your FieldCamp account
Look at the left sidebar navigation menu
Click Inbox (envelope icon)

2. Tour the Tabs
Click each tab at the top: Tasks, Emails, Calls, Messages
Review what each tab displays
Success Check: You see content in each tab (or "No items yet" if you're new)
3. Send and Reply
Send a test email:
Click the Emails tab
Click the Compose button
Enter recipient email, subject, and message
Click Send
Success Check: You see "Email sent successfully" confirmation
Reply to a message:
Click any existing email or text message conversation
Type your reply in the message box
Click Send
Success Check: Your reply appears in the conversation thread
4. Make a Test Call (if enabled)
Click the Calls tab
Click the Make Call button
Enter a phone number
Allow microphone access when your browser prompts you
Click Call
Success Check: You hear ringing and can speak when the call connects
Note: If the Calls tab is not visible, enable the Calls addon first.
5. Try Search and Filters
Search communications:
Click in the Search bar at the top of any tab
Type keywords (contact name, message content, phone number)
Success Check: Only matching communications display
Apply filters:
Click the Filter dropdown
Select All, Unread, Read, or other options
Click Apply
Success Check: Your view updates to show only filtered items
6. Use Bulk Actions
Select multiple emails or messages (check the boxes next to each item)
Click the Bulk Actions dropdown
Choose action: Mark as Read, Mark as Unread, or Delete
Success Check: Selected items update according to your action
7. Verify Integrations
Click your profile icon (top-right corner)
Select Settings
Click Integrations in the left menu
Check status:
a. Gmail: Should show "Connected" with your email address
b. Calls addon: Should show "Enabled"
Success Check: Your integrations show "Connected" or "Enabled" status

Which roles can access the Inbox?
Which roles can access the Inbox?
Inbox access depends on your role and permission level. Admin and Dispatcher roles have full Inbox access by default. Field Technician Pro has view-only access (can read messages and view tasks assigned to them). Field Technician Lite has no access to the Inbox. Do I need to connect Gmail before I can use the Inbox?
Do I need to connect Gmail before I can use the Inbox?
No. You can use the Inbox for tasks, calls, and messages without connecting Gmail. However, to send and receive emails through FieldCamp, you need to connect your Gmail account in Settings → Apps & Integrations. See Connecting Gmail for setup instructions. Outlook email integration is also available.
Can I see emails and calls for my entire team, or just my own?
Can I see emails and calls for my entire team, or just my own?
That depends on your role's permission level. With "Full management" or "Full access" on the Inbox module, you can see all team communications. With "View only," you only see messages and tasks assigned to you. Admin and Dispatcher roles can see all team communications by default. See Roles & Permissions for details.

Is there a way to assign a conversation to a specific team member?
Yes. Within the Inbox, you can assign tasks and conversations to specific team members. Click on a conversation or task, then use the assignment dropdown to select a team member. Only team members with Inbox access will appear in the assignment list.
