Connect Gmail & Outlook to FieldCamp — Setup Guide

Connect Gmail or Outlook to FieldCamp to send invoices and estimates from your business email, sync replies to your Inbox, and manage all client emails in one place.

Updated today

Why Connect Gmail?

Connecting Gmail lets you send and receive emails directly inside FieldCamp. Customer replies to invoices, estimates, and appointment confirmations all appear in your Inbox — no need to switch between apps.

Also available: If you use Microsoft Outlook instead of Gmail, the process is similar. Go to Settings → Apps & Integrations and look for Outlook instead.

How to Connect Gmail

  1. Go to Settings → Apps & Integrations.

  2. Find Gmail in the list and click Connect.

  3. A Google sign-in window opens. Sign in with the Gmail account you want to use.

  4. Review the permissions FieldCamp is requesting and click Allow.

  5. You are redirected back to FieldCamp. Gmail now shows as Connected.

Important: FieldCamp needs permission to read, compose, and send emails on your behalf. These permissions are required for the integration to work. FieldCamp only accesses emails related to your business — it does not read your personal emails.

What You Can Do After Connecting

Once Gmail is connected, several features become available across FieldCamp:

Unified Inbox

  • Your Inbox in the sidebar shows emails sent to and from your connected Gmail address.

  • Customer replies appear in both FieldCamp Inbox and Gmail.

  • The Inbox has tabs for Email, Calls, Tasks, Messages, and Important items — all in one place.

Send Emails from FieldCamp

  • When you send an invoice or estimate, the email goes through your Gmail account (so it appears in your Gmail "Sent" folder too).

  • Appointment confirmations and reminders are sent from your business email address.

  • You can compose new emails to clients directly from FieldCamp.

Sync Management

  • FieldCamp tracks your sync history so you can see when the last sync occurred.

  • You can trigger a manual resync from the integration settings page if emails aren't appearing.

Disconnecting Gmail

  1. Go to Settings → Apps & Integrations.

  2. Find Gmail and click Disconnect.

  3. Confirm the disconnection.

After disconnecting, emails will no longer sync between Gmail and FieldCamp. Your existing email history in FieldCamp is preserved.

FAQ's

Does FieldCamp work with Google Workspace (business) Gmail accounts?

Yes. FieldCamp works with both personal Gmail accounts and Google Workspace (formerly G Suite) business accounts. If your organization uses Google Workspace, your admin may need to allow third-party app access in the Google Admin console before you can connect. Check with your IT team if the connection fails during the permissions step.

Will FieldCamp read my personal emails?

No. FieldCamp only accesses emails related to your FieldCamp activity — such as invoice replies, estimate responses, and appointment confirmations. It does not scan, index, or read your personal emails. The permissions requested during setup are required by Google's API for any app that sends and receives email on your behalf.

Can I connect multiple email accounts to FieldCamp?

Each FieldCamp workspace connects to one email account. If your business uses multiple email addresses, connect the primary one you use for client communications — this is the address that will appear as the sender on invoices, estimates, and appointment emails.

What happens to my emails in FieldCamp if I disconnect Gmail?

Your existing email history in FieldCamp is preserved — you can still view past messages. However, new emails will no longer sync between Gmail and FieldCamp, and you won't be able to send emails from FieldCamp until you reconnect an email account.
