Why Connect Google Calendar?

Syncing Google Calendar with FieldCamp ensures your scheduled jobs appear alongside your personal events. This gives you a single view of your day, prevents double-booking, and helps your team stay on top of their schedule.

Also available: If you use Microsoft Outlook Calendar, the setup process is similar. Go to Settings → Apps & Integrations and look for Outlook Calendar.

How the Sync Works

FieldCamp uses a true two-way sync with Google Calendar. Changes made on either side are automatically reflected on the other.

FieldCamp → Google Calendar (Push)

When a visit is scheduled in FieldCamp, it is automatically pushed to your connected Google Calendar as a calendar event. The sync maps the following fields:

FieldCamp Field

Google Calendar Field

Visit start date/time

Event start time

Visit end date/time

Event end time

Job title + Client name

Event title (summary)

Job or client address

Event location

Job description

Event description

The event title on Google Calendar is formatted as the job title combined with the client name, so you can quickly identify which job and client each event is for.

Google Calendar → FieldCamp (Pull)

FieldCamp periodically pulls changes from Google Calendar using incremental sync. This means it only fetches events that have changed since the last sync, keeping the process fast and efficient. Your Google Calendar events appear on FieldCamp's Calendar view so you can see your full schedule — both FieldCamp jobs and personal events — in one place.

If you reschedule, update, or delete an event on Google Calendar that was originally created by FieldCamp, those changes are synced back to the corresponding visit in FieldCamp.

Sync Timing

The sync runs automatically. Changes in either direction are typically reflected within a few minutes. Only visits with a specific date and time are synced — jobs without a schedule will not appear on Google Calendar. Learn more about jobs in Key Concepts.

Disconnecting Google Calendar

  1. Go to Settings → Apps & Integrations.

  2. Find Google Calendar and click Disconnect.

  3. Confirm the disconnection.

After disconnecting, FieldCamp jobs will no longer appear on Google Calendar, and Google Calendar events will no longer appear in FieldCamp. Previously synced data is preserved.

Troubleshooting

  • If events are not syncing, check that the connection still shows as Connected in Settings → Apps & Integrations.

  • Make sure you selected the correct calendar during setup. You can disconnect and reconnect to choose a different calendar.

  • Calendar sync can take a few minutes. Wait and refresh the FieldCamp Calendar page.

FAQ's

Does each team member need to connect their own Google Calendar?

Yes. Each team member connects their own Google account in their personal settings. This means each person's FieldCamp visits sync to their own Google Calendar. As an admin, you cannot connect Google Calendar on behalf of team members — they need to do it themselves from their account.

Are recurring events from Google Calendar synced to FieldCamp?

Google Calendar recurring events appear on FieldCamp's Calendar view as individual occurrences. However, FieldCamp-to-Google sync is visit-based — each visit is pushed as a standalone event, not as a recurring series. If you need recurring jobs in FieldCamp, set them up using FieldCamp's recurring job feature, and each generated visit will sync to Google Calendar individually.

What happens if I have multiple Google Calendars?

During setup, you choose which Google Calendar to sync with FieldCamp. Only that one calendar is used for the two-way sync. If you want to change which calendar is connected, disconnect and reconnect, then select a different calendar in step 5.

Does the sync work with Google Workspace (business) accounts?

Yes. FieldCamp works with both personal Google accounts and Google Workspace accounts. If your organization uses Google Workspace, your admin may need to allow third-party app access in the Google Admin console. Check with your IT team if the connection fails during the permissions step.
