Client Detail Page — Actions Menu| FieldCamp

Use the Actions menu on the client detail page to add jobs, tasks, estimates, invoices, make calls, send SMS, or delete a client in FieldCamp.

The client detail page in FieldCamp includes an Actions dropdown button that gives you quick access to common tasks for that client — without navigating away from the page.

Accessing the Actions Menu

  1. Open any client from the Clients list

  2. Click the Actions button in the toolbar

  3. Select the action you want to perform

Available Actions

The actions available depend on your role and the client's current stage. If a client is in a final stage (e.g., Archived), most creation actions are hidden.

Creates a new job linked to this client

If you have job creation permission and client is not in a final stage

Opens a task creation modal for this client

If you can create and view tasks, and client is not in a final stage

Add Estimate

Opens estimate creation in a new tab, pre-linked to this client

If you have estimate creation permission and client is not in a final stage

Add Invoice

Opens invoice creation in a new tab, pre-linked to this client

If you have invoice creation permission and client is not in a final stage

Call

Shows a phone number dropdown to initiate a call

If the Calls add-on is enabled for your account

SMS

Opens the SMS modal to send a text message

If the Calls add-on is enabled for your account

Delete Client

Opens a confirmation modal to delete this client

If you have delete permission (appears at the bottom with a divider)

Actions and Final Stages

When a client is in a final stage (such as Archived), most creation actions — Add Job, Add Task, Add Estimate, and Add Invoice — are automatically hidden. This prevents accidentally creating new work for clients that are no longer active. Call, SMS, and Delete remain available regardless of stage.

Deleting a Client

The Delete Client option appears at the bottom of the Actions menu, separated by a divider and styled as a destructive action (red). Clicking it opens a confirmation modal — you must confirm before the client is deleted. Only users with delete permission see this option.

FAQ's

Can I duplicate a client in FieldCamp?

No. Client duplication is not currently available in FieldCamp. To create a similar client, you'll need to create a new client record manually and re-enter the shared details. Note: Job duplication IS available — you can duplicate a job from the job detail page's Actions menu.

Why don't I see all the actions in the menu?

Actions are filtered by your role permissions and the client's current stage. If the client is in a final stage (e.g., Archived), Add Job, Add Task, Add Estimate, and Add Invoice are hidden. Call and SMS only appear if the Calls add-on is enabled. Delete only appears if you have delete permission.

Can I add a job or estimate for an archived client?

No. When a client is in a final stage like Archived, the Add Job, Add Task, Add Estimate, and Add Invoice actions are hidden. To create new work for this client, first move them back to an active stage (e.g., Active Client), then use the Actions menu.
