Workflow Efficiency Tips

Using Search for Navigation

Instead of clicking through menus to find a specific client, press ⌘K and type their name. The client record appears in results within milliseconds. This method works for any record type, reducing navigation time by 70%.

Quick Creation Workflow

When on a call with a new client, press ⌘K and select "Create Client" to capture their information without interrupting the conversation. The form opens over your current screen, maintaining context while you work.

Combining Search and Actions

Search for a client first, then use Quick Actions to create a related job. The system remembers your recent search, making it easy to select the same client when creating the job.

Keyboard Shortcuts Within Command Search

Navigation Shortcuts:

  • Arrow Keys: Navigate through results

  • Enter: Open selected result or action

  • Tab: Move between search and actions

  • Escape: Close search overlay

Quick Selection:

  • Number Keys (1-9): Select result by position

  • ⌘Enter (Mac) or Ctrl+Enter (Windows): Open in new tab (web only)

Advanced Search Techniques

Filter Operators

Add prefixes to narrow search scope:

  • @ for clients only (@john finds only client records)

  • # for job numbers (#1234 finds specific job)

  • $ for financial records ($500 finds invoices/estimates with that amount)

Pro Tips:

  • Make ⌘K your primary navigation method to save hours weekly

  • Train new team members on Command Key Search first for faster adoption

  • Use Quick Actions during client calls for real-time data entry

Remember: Command Key Search is context-aware, showing more relevant results based on where you are in the application and what you've recently accessed.
