Custom views allow you to:

  • Filter data by specific criteria

  • Save frequently used configurations

  • Switch between different data perspectives quickly

  • Share standardized views with team members

Creating a Custom View

Step 1: Access My Views

  1. Click the grid icon in the sidebar

  2. Select the module you want to create a view for (e.g., Jobs, Clients, Calendar)

Step 2: Define View Criteria

Available Filters (Click on Organize):

  • Date Range: Today, This Week, This Month, Custom Range

  • Status: Active, Pending, Completed, Overdue

  • Assigned To: Specific team members or unassigned

  • Priority: High, Medium, Low

  • Location: Service areas or regions

  • Custom Fields: Any custom properties you've created

Step 3: Configure View Settings

  1. Set Default Sort Order

    • Priority (High to Low)

    • Date (Newest/Oldest First)

    • Alphabetical (A-Z/Z-A)

    • Status

  2. Choose Columns to Display

    • Select which data fields appear

    • Drag to reorder columns

    • Set column widths

Step 4: Save and Pin View

  1. Click Save View

  2. Name Your View

    • Use descriptive names (e.g., "Today's Urgent Jobs", "Overdue Invoices")

  3. Toggle Pin to Sidebar if you want quick access

  4. Set as Default View (optional)

Best Practices

  1. Naming Conventions

    • Use role prefixes: "Dispatch - Morning Routes"

    • Include time context: "Weekly Review - Jobs"

    • Be specific: "Overdue HVAC Maintenance" not "HVAC View"

  2. View Optimization

    • Limit views to 5-7 per user to avoid clutter

    • Review and update views monthly

    • Archive seasonal views when not in use

  3. Team Standardization

    • Create standard views for each role

    • Document view purposes in team wiki

    • Train new employees on standard views

Troubleshooting

View not loading correctly

  • Clear browser cache

  • Check filter conflicts (e.g., future date + completed status)

  • Verify permissions for filtered data

Cannot save view

  • Check character limit for view name

  • Ensure at least one filter is applied

  • Verify you have permission to create views

View showing incorrect data

  • Review filter criteria

  • Check date range settings

  • Ensure custom field values are correctly entered
